Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) – Dr Fiona Graham
April 9 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Disability SPOT is very excited to be running a whole day of training with an internationally recognized speaker Dr Fi Graham on occupational performance coaching.
Fi (Fiona) is an occupational therapist, specialising in work with families and children. Her PhD with the University of Queensland has examined the effectiveness of coaching parents of children with disabilities to enhance children’s success in everyday life. Fiona developed Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) as part of her PhD and continues to research and provide training in OPC.
OPC is an evidence-based intervention for rehabilitation specialists to assist people with disabilities and their caregivers to realise their aspirations for themselves, their loved ones, and their families. OPC draws from core principles of occupational therapy that people learn, develop and grow from doing the things they value as fully as they wish and are able. OPC was originally developed for occupational therapists to assist parents of children with developmental disabilities, but continues to evolve in response to research findings and feedback from OPC trainees and recipients of OPC.
We have previously run a very popular webinar with Dr Fi Graham and hence have now decided to run a full day of training, which will be followed up by three one-hour zoom sessions a month apart to assist therapists with implementing their leanings into daily clinical practice. We are strictly limited to 40 attendees so get in quick!
